VIENNA, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Austria's Palfinger (PALF.VI) nudged up its outlook on Wednesday after beating profit and revenue expectations thanks to the strong demand other crane makers had already reported for the June quarter.

The group, whose main product is truck-mounted cranes often used by builders, swung to a second quarter operating profit of 10.1 million euros ($13 million) from a loss a year ago, and had the first year-on-year revenue growth in seven quarters.

It beat all forecasts in a Reuters poll of four analysts that had expected 8 million euros in earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) and a 19 percent rise in revenue.

The company said it now expected revenue to rise by around 15 percent this year, at the upper end of the 10-15 percent range it had given earlier. The average analyst forecast is for 18 percent revenue growth, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.

Palfinger peers such as Finland's Cargotec (CGCBV.HE) and Konecranes (KCR1V.HE) or Germany's Demag Cranes (D9CGn.DE) had also reported much stronger demand and rising revenue and profit in the second quarter. [ID:nLDE66J1FZ]

Palfinger shares have risen 14 percent to 17.865 euros this year but are still off highs of 22 euros reached in April. (Reporting by Boris Groendahl; Editing by David Cowell)
