HONG KONG Aug 18 (Reuters) - Aluminum Corp of China Ltd (Chalco) (2600.HK)(601600.SS) has raised its spot price for alumina by 3.8 percent to 2,750 yuan ($404.90) per tonne, according to a notice on the company's website (www.chalco.com.cn).

Chalco, the country's top aluminium producer and the world's third-largest alumina maker, said the increase would take immediate effect.

Early in July, Chalco cut the spot price of alumina by 7 percent to 2,650 yuan per tonne, the second month in a row that the company had lowered alumina prices, following a 5 percent cut in June. [ID:nTOE661003] (US$1=HK$7.77) (Reporting by Donny Kwok; Editing by Chris Lewis)
