Intuit quarterly loss narrows; revenue up
NEW YORK |
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Intuit Inc (INTU.O), maker of TurboTax and Quicken software, reported a narrower quarterly loss as revenue rose in its small business segment.
The Mountain View, California-based tax preparation company posted a fourth-quarter net loss of $48 million, or 15 cents a share, compared with a loss of $71 million, or 22 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 18 percent to $537 million in the quarter ended on July 31 from $457 million a year earlier.
Intuit gets most of its profit in its fiscal second and third quarters when more people buy its do-it-yourself tax preparation software in the runup to tax season.
