TOKYO Aug 23 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) plans to boost global output of hybrid vehicles by 7 percent in 2011 to 740,000 units, Japan's Nikkan Kogyo business newspaper reported on Monday.

Toyota, the world's largest automaker, recently submitted the production plan to its parts suppliers, the Nikkan Kogyo reported, without identifying the source of the information.

The figure is considerably less than a previously reported aim to produce 1 million gas-electric hybrid cars globally next year according to a January article in the Nikkei business daily. [ID:nTOE60H012]

A Toyota spokesman said the firm does not disclose details of future production plans.
