Sanofi won't go above $70/share for Genzyme-report
* Sanofi may look at alternative targets - Bloomberg
* Sanofi's current bid is $69 per Genzyme share
NEW YORK Aug 25 (Reuters) - Sanofi-Aventis (SASY.PA) is not willing to pay more than $70 per share for U.S. biotech Genzyme Corp GENZ.O and may look at alternative targets, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
France's Sanofi has offered $69 per share for Genzyme and its board has authorized a bid of up to $70 per share, sources have told Reuters in the past.
According to the Bloomberg report, Sanofi may consider companies such as Bausch & Lomb Inc, Allergan Inc (AGN.N) or Celgene Corp (CELG.O) if a deal with Genzyme falls through.
Shares in Genzyme fell 1.7 percent to $64.20. Allergan shares rose 1.9 percent. (Reporting by Michele Gershberg; editing by John Wallace)
