SAN FRANCISCO Aug 25 (Reuters) - Netscape co-founder Marc Andreessen's venture capital firm is starting its second fund and targeting $650 million to invest, peHUB, a unit of Thomson Reuters, reported on Wednesday.

Having raised $300 million in 2009, Andreessen Horowitz, started by Andreessen and technology businessman Ben Horowitz, is again looking for investors, peHUB wrote.

After launching early Web-browser company Netscape Communications Corp in the 1990s, Silicon Valley icon Andreessen has invested in other start-ups and joined the boards of eBay (EBAY.O) and Facebook. (Reporting by Noel Randewich; Editing by Gary Hill)
