Aug 26 (Reuters) - Following are security developments in Iraq at 1300 GMT on Thursday.



MUQDADIYA - Gunmen killed six people in a raid on a government-backed Sunni militia near Muqdadiya, 80 km (50 miles) northeast of Baghdad.

ABU SAIDA - One attacker was killed and two arrested in a thwarted assault against a government-backed Sunni militia in Abu Saida, 70 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad, Interior Ministry and provincial officials said.

BAQUBA - Two Iraqi soldiers were killed and two seriously wounded when a roadside bomb went off near their patrol south of Baquba, 65 km (40 miles) northeast of Baghdad, police said.

MOSUL - A member of Iraq's Turkmen Front, Nezhat Ali, was wounded when a car bomb went off near his car in Bertila, 30 km east of Mosul, police said. Police said a policeman and four civilians were wounded. Mosul is 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad.

MOSUL - A civilian and a child were wounded when a bomb exploded in a busy marketplace in eastern Mosul late on Wednesday, police said.

KIRKUK - One civilian was wounded when a gunmen in a speeding car opened fire on him as he was driving his car late of Wednesday in southern Kirkuk, 250 km (155 miles) north of Baghdad, police said.

HAWIJA - One civilian was wounded by a roadside bomb in Hawija, 210 km (130 miles) north of Baghdad. (Compiled by Baghdad newsroom)
