UPDATE 1-JAL postpones management shake-up to Dec - Nikkei

Aug 27 (Reuters) - Japan Airlines Corp (JAL) (JALFQ.PK) decided to postpone its management reshuffle by two months to Dec. 1 at the request of Chairman Kazuo Inamori, the Nikkei business daily reported.

JAL, now in bankruptcy proceedings, will submit its restructuring plan on Tuesday to the Tokyo District Court, the paper said.

It opted to delay the reshuffling as the court is expected to deliver its decision on the restructuring plan around late November, the business daily said. JAL decided the replacement of current executives with a new slate to take up efforts to cancel money-losing routes, which will begin in earnest in October. But a system for monitoring income and expenditures for individual routes now appears unlikely to be ready until late November, the Nikkei said.

Inamori, who is expected to stay on as chairman, regards the system, which will make it easier to hold top officials accountable for earnings, as key to managing the business, the daily reported. (Reporting by Swati Chitnis in Bangalore; Editing by Maju Samuel)
