UPDATE 1-Aetna files lawsuit against LabCorp
* Suit alleges unfair competition, other breaches
* LabCorp believes allegations are without merit
LOS ANGELES Aug 26 (Reuters) - Health insurer Aetna Inc (AET.N) has filed a lawsuit against Laboratory Corp of America (LH.N), alleging unfair competition, breach of contract and other violations of law, the lab-testing company said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.
Aetna is seeking unspecified monetary damages and equitable relief.
LabCorp said it believes that the allegations are without merit and it will vigorously defend the lawsuit.
