Federal Reserve buys $1.42 billion of Treasuries
NEW YORK, Aug 26 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve bought $1.42 billion of U.S. Treasury debt maturing from November 2021 through November 2039 on Thursday, the New York Fed said in a statement.
Dealers submitted $8.46 billion of Treasuries for consideration in the purchase, the New York Fed said.
The Fed has said it intends to buy about $18 billion of Treasuries from mid-August through mid-September using the proceeds from maturing agency bonds and mortgage-backed securities, in an effort to keep steady its holdings of domestic securities.
