NEW DELHI Aug 27 (Reuters) - India is hopeful Research In Motion (RIM.TO), makers of BlackBerry smartphones, will come up with a solution to enable security agencies access its encrypted data, junior telecoms minister Sachin Pilot said on Friday.

"Discussions are ongoing. We are not in the business of shutting down services," he said.

"I am hopeful we will come up with some resolution."

Research in Motion (RIMM.O) faces an Aug. 31 deadline for giving security agencies access to its corporate email and messenger services. The company offered on Thursday to lead an industry forum to look at India's need to have "lawful access" to the encrypted services.
