Banpu committed to Indonesia unit after share sale

BANGKOK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Thailand's top coal miner, Banpu PCL BANP.BK, said it was still committed to long-term investment in Indonesian unit Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk PT (ITMG.JK) after the sale of part of its stake. [ID:nJAK456843]

Its Banpu Minerals (Singapore) Pte Ltd has sold an 8.72 percent stake in Indo Tambangraya Megah at 36,150 rupiah per share, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

The company will remain the largest shareholder with 65 percent after the share sale, which it said would generate about $395 million for Banpu Minerals. (Reporting by Khettiya Jittapong; Editing by Alan Raybould)
