FRANKFURT, Sept 2 (Reuters) - The board of Germany's Bundesbank said on Thursday it had voted unanimously to seek the dismissal of board member Thilo Sarrazin, who has sparked uproar with his comments about Muslim immigrants and race.

In a statement, the bank said it had asked German President Christian Wulff to remove the 65-year-old, who has been condemned for disparaging remarks on immigrants and assertions that Jews had a particular genetic make-up.

Wulff must approve the Bundesbank's decision.
