BRIEF-Thai Samart Corp expects better earnings in 2010

BANGKOK, Sept 2 (Reuters) - Thailand's Samart Corporation Pcl SAMA.BK:

* Expects 2010 net profit to be higher than 455 million baht ($14.61 million) in 2009 as the company expected revenue and net profit should improve in the second half, Chief Executive Watchai Vilailuck told reporters

* Says its subsidiary Samart I Mobile SIM.BK would join bid for a full service as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), which required a lower investment budget than building a third-generation network, later this year

* Earlier this week, Samart said it scrapped plan to take part in an upcoming auction for 3G mobile phone licence. [ID:nSGE67T06S] ($1=31.15 Baht)
