Bharti Airtel founder's son joins company

NEW DELHI, Sept 3 (Reuters) - Bharti Airtel (BRTI.BO), India's top mobile operator, has appointed its founder-chairman's son as a manager at a unit that holds its African assets, the company said in a statement.

Shravin Bharti Mittal, one of the twin sons of billionaire Sunil Bharti Mittal, will be part of Bharti Airtel's international operations and his current remuneration will be 50,000 euros ($64,130) a year, the company said.

Prior to joining Bharti Airtel, Shravin was working with JP Morgan Cazenove in London as an analyst in the technology, media and telecommunications division of the investment banking unit, it said.

Shravin holds a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Bath in the UK, it added. ($1=.7797 Euro) (Reporting by Devidutta Tripathy; Editing by Ranjit Gangadharan)
