 -- Private equity firm Carlyle [CYL.UL] to acquire U.S.
nutritional supplements maker NBTY NTY.N (approved Sept. 3)
 -- South Korean steelmaker POSCO (005490.KS) to acquire
South Korean trading company Daewoo International (047050.KS)

 -- French car parts maker Plastic Omnium (PLOF.PA) to
acquire full control of Belgian vehicle fuel tank supplier
Inergy Automotive Systems, which it jointly owns with Belgian
drugs, chemicals and plastics maker Solvay (SOLB.BR) (notified

     -- Private equity firms Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and
Goldman Sachs (GS.N) to acquire U.S. medical products provider
