Exxon Mobil reports Joliet refinery unit shutdown-filing

NEW YORK, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Exxon Mobil reported a shutdown of an unspecified unit at its 238,600 barrel per day refinery in Joliet, Illinois, on Friday, according to a fiing with state regulators.

The shutdown of the unit caused a release of acid gas.

A company spokesman was not immediately available to comment on any production impact.
