Hoffman roars to victory at Deutsche Bank Championship

NORTON, Massachusetts (Reuters) - American Charley Hoffman produced a brilliant final round to earn an emphatic five-stroke victory at the $7.5 million Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday.

Hoffman stormed home with a nine-under-par 62 at the Boston TPC to clinch his second victory on the PGA Tour.

He finished at 22-under 262, while Australians Jason Day (71) and Geoff Ogilvy (66) and Briton Luke Donald (69) tied for second at 17-under.

Hoffman, 33, moves to second in the tour's FedEx Cup points list with two of the four playoff events completed.

Tiger Woods finished 12 strokes behind, tied for 11th, and retained his world number one ranking.
