US STOCKS SNAPSHOT-Indexes open down on Europe bank worries

NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - U.S. stocks opened lower on Tuesday pressured by fresh concerns about Europe's financial stability.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was down 54.72 points, or 0.52 percent, at 10,393.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was down 7.37 points, or 0.67 percent, at 1,097.14.
