BOJ Shirakawa: past Japan QE hardly boosted economy

TOKYO, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said on Wednesday that Japanese quantitative easing in the past had helped stabilise financial systems but had had only a limited impact on boosting the economy and prices.
