2nd Mariner Energy platform on fire -local media
HOUSTON, Sept 9 |
HOUSTON, Sept 9 (Reuters) - A Mariner Energy ME.N platform caught fire in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, the second in two weeks, New Orleans television station WDSU-TV reported on its website.
The fire on the non-producing platform, located 75 miles south of Morgan City, Louisiana, has been extinguished and there was no sign of oil leaks, WDSU reported.
A fire on Mariner platform on Sept. 2 forced the evacuation of 13 workers. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by David Gregorio)
