No Senate Republicans back Obama tax plan - spokesman
WASHINGTON, Sept 13 |
WASHINGTON, Sept 13 (Reuters) - Republicans in the U.S. Senate have enough votes to block President Barack Obama's plan to extend tax cuts for the middle class while allowing those on the richest Americans to expire, a senior Senate Republican spokesman said on Monday.
"There are no Republicans who support a tax hike and there is a growing chorus of Democrats who oppose it as well," said Don Stewart, spokesman for Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
Stewart declined to say whether Senate Republicans would actually block action on the plan.

November we have an opportunity to turn America back and eject these socialist from our system of government.
To villify the wealthy for having pulled themselves out of poverty by their boot straps and make a success is the height of arrogance on Obamas part. Punishing success is unAmerican and smacks of a leader that is demented and has a poor view point about what America stands for and can accomplish.
If you’re really successful, your money isn’t being derived solely from earned income. It comes from investments and capital gains like dividends from stock ownership.
This silly game of “poor mr. rich guy” is taking America hook line and sinker to the very food lines they claim to fear, but will move out of the country long before deigning to stand in.
