PCCW mulls pay TV unit listing - report

HONG KONG, Sept 24 | Thu Sep 23, 2010 9:15pm EDT

HONG KONG, Sept 24 (Reuters) - PCCW Ltd (0008.HK), Hong Kong's dominant fixed-line telephone operator, is considering listing its pay TV unit, a local newspaper reported on Friday, citing unidentified sources.

PCCW was likely to list its Now TV unit on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) board because a mainboard listing required three years of continued profitability, the Chinese-language Sing Tao Daily reported.

Now TV was likely to have total assets worth about HK$1 billion ($130 million), the newspaper added.

PCCW Managing Director Alex Arena declined to comment, the newspaper reported. Calls to the company's public relations department were unanswered. (Reporting by Kelvin Soh; Editing by Chris Lewis)
