Ecuador military: troops are under Correa's control

QUITO, Sept 30 (Reuters) - Ecuador's top military commander said on Thursday that soldiers in the South American country remained loyal to President Rafael Correa.

Separately, Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino said there had been no popular uprising, but that a demonstration by police was unacceptable and intolerable. (Reporting by Hugh Bronstein)
