Obama to name new security adviser Friday

WASHINGTON Oct 8 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will name close aide Tom Donilon as his new national security adviser on Friday, a senior administration official said.

The White House said Obama would make a statement at 1 p.m. EDT.
