Hankook to invest $1.2 bln in tyres in Indonesia

JAKARTA Oct 12 (Reuters) - South Korea's Hankook Tire (000240.KS) will invest $1.2 billion in the tyre industry in Indonesia, industry minister MS Hidayat said on Tuesday. Officials said earlier this year that Hankook was considering a $1 billion investment in a new tyre factory.

Asian foreign direct investors are increasingly looking at the resources and consumer sectors in Indonesia, which is expected to see record car sales this year. (Reporting by Yayat Supriatna; Editing by Neil Chatterjee)
