DUBLIN, Oct 13 (Reuters) - A low key protest by cabin crew at Aer Lingus (AERL.I) that began on Wednesday has caused no disruption to flights, the Irish airline said.

Cabin crew at the former flag carrier have started "work to rule" action against management plans for increased working hours at the airline by sticking to original rosters.

The IMPACT trade union said last week that the protest would not have an immediate impact on passenger travel but was quoted as saying on Wednesday that it could strike if the airline took any action against its members.

A spokeswoman for Aer Lingus said all flight schedules were operating as per usual on Wednesday.

Aer Lingus has cut unprofitable U.S. routes, reduced staff and fuel costs to reverse losses threatening its survival. It returned to profit in the second quarter of this year.

Its shares were up 0.4 percent at 1.15 euros by 0945 GMT in a 0.9 percent higher Irish Stock Exchange index .ISEQ.
