Boeing says confident Dreamliner programme on track
SINGAPORE |
SINGAPORE Oct 18 (Reuters) - Boeing's (BA.N) 787 Dreamliner programme is on track for first delivery in early 2011 although there is no 100 percent guarantee, a senior company executive said on Monday.
"That is on track as far as I understand... There's no 100 percent guarantee but that's the best plan we have and we have confidence in it," Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, told Reuters in an interview. Tinseth also said that the world's largest aerospace and defence company will not make any decision on the next generation of its 777 model until the end of next year.
Dubai carrier Emirates said it was working with Boeing on the next generation of the 777 series and "is very interested in a placement" the CEO of the airline told Reuters last week. [ID:nN12209677] (Reporting by Harry Suhartono, editing by Raju Gopalakrishnan)
