Amazon pulls book on pedophilia after complaints

ATLANTA (Reuters) - Amazon has pulled an electronic book about pedophilia from its online store after complaints and a boycott threat, according to media reports on Thursday.

The book, "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct," by Philip R. Greaves II, went on sale on October 28 and cost $4.79 to download, the reports said.

Amazon initially defended the book's publication in a statement but later withdrew it from its online store after a campaign against it spread on Twitter, Facebook and other media. Some people said they planned to boycott the store in protest, the reports said.

The book title appeared on the company's website on Thursday but a subsequent message read: "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site."

There was no immediate comment on the reports from Amazon, which is based in Seattle, despite various requests by Reuters.

As the guide as been withdrawn I would like to volunteer to write another. It will be focused on the pedophile and will include detailed instructions on how to castrate yourself and how to commit suicide with one hundred percent rate of success including a full chapter on how to hang yourself with drawings on how to make a noose.

If things work out the way I hope governments will make the book freely available to all pedophiles and sex offenders.

What better way to know how to protect your children from these sorts of perverts than to read the book yourself and teach your children how to recognize and avoid the techniques described.

At the very least, someone should take the book apart chapter by chapter and offer instructions on how to counteract this sort of behaviour.

OK for real now! That guy (P.G.) is a SICK FREAK! I actually said to a friend of mine yesterday almost exactly what “Hobartian” wrote here. That I am going to write a book about how to torture, castrate, & murder pedophiles. Or how about we make something personal to the CEO of Amazon…like a book about how to abduct the family of the CEO of Amazon and do sick things to THEM! Gee, I wonder if they would be so OPEN MINDED about Non-Censorship THEN and sell this book?! I highly doubt if the execs of Amazon.com had one of their own children raped or molested by a pedophile, that they would be so “objectionable”! And let’s be honest AMAZON…you don’t give a rat’s arse about “censorship rights”…the TRUTH is that it all comes down to the “ALMIGHTY BUCK”. The truth is…Amazon cares more about MONEY than children being molested & raped or censorship rights. That’s why they agreed to sell the book in the first place. But funny how a threaten of Boycott that would affect your company’s revenue, do you then decide to pull the book. It is truly a SHAME that in our world the ALMIGHTY BUCK takes top rank over pretty much everything! SO Sad! But at least the SAME motive Amazon had to sell the book is what led them to pull it too. The power of money. And thank God, people stood together and used it to turn it around on them by threatening the BOYCOTT! Kudos to those who took a stand! And personally, I still think now I will never buy from Amazon again ANYWAY for having the poor judgement and character to sell the book in the first place! SHAME ON YOU AMAZON!
