Nov 18 (Reuters) - The following company announcements, scheduled economic indicators, debt and currency market moves and political events may affect African markets on Thursday.

EVENTS

* NAIROBI - Kenya auctions 91-day Treasury bills worth 3.5 billion shillings.

* KIGALI - Rwanda selling 3.5 billion francs of new 5-year bonds. Will also auction 4 billion francs of 28, 91, 182, 364-day Treasury bills.

* DODOMA - Tanzania's president and prime minister due to announce new cabinet any time.

* ANTANANARIVO - Madagascar's prime minister says security forces will crush any attempted power grab after dissident officers claimed on Wednesday to have seized power.

GLOBAL MARKETS

The dollar dipped against the euro on Thursday after subdued U.S. inflation supported the Federal Reserve's case for quantitative easing, while Asian equities stabilised after an eight-day sell-off. [ID:nTOE6AH00Z]

SOUTH AFRICA MARKETS

South Africa's rand gained slightly against the dollar on Wednesday after testing support at the key 7.08 level, while stocks were largely flat. [ID:nLDE6AG1U8]

NIGERIA HOSTAGES

Nigeria's military rescued 19 hostages including foreigners being held by militants in the Niger Delta oil region in a land, air and sea operation on Wednesday, security sources said. [ID:nLDE6AG2AF]

KENYA MARKETS

The Kenyan shilling KES= clawed back some ground against the dollar on Wednesday on offshore selling of the greenback after the central bank bought euros in the local market instead of dollars. [ID:nLDE6AG1JQ]

UGANDA CURRENCY

GHANA MARKETS

* Ghana's 2011 budget due to be unveiled on Thursday will include major infrastructure and other spending aimed at fostering economic growth and employment, according to a summary published by the finance ministry. [ID:nLDE6AG0Q7]

* Shares in Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB.GH) jumped 2.5 percent following strong demand from foreign and local institutional investors to help push the Ghana index higher, traders said.

MAURITIUS ECONOMY
