Borrowers fall out of Obama mortgage aid program

WASHINGTON Nov 18 (Reuters) - Dropouts from the Obama administration's marquee foreclosure prevention program continued to outnumber borrowers who have been permanently helped, the Treasury Department said on Thursday.

Through October, about 756,000 borrowers have dropped out of the Home Affordable Modification Program, or HAMP, since its inception last year while about 483,000 have receieved permanent modifications.
