TOKYO Nov 30 (Reuters) - The Australian dollar rose against the U.S. dollar after data on Tuesday showed net exports could detract less from Q3 GDP than forecast and a bigger rise than expected in building approvals in October.

The Aussie rose to $0.9650 AUD=D4 from about $0.9625 before the data, which comes a day before third-quarter gross domestic product. It was later at $0.9641, up 0.2 percent on the day.
