EU clears Sun Capital to buy DSM unit
BRUSSELS |
BRUSSELS Dec 2 (Reuters) - Private equity firm Sun Capital gained European Union regulatory approval on Thursday to buy the special products subsidiary of Dutch chemicals company DSM (DSMN.AS).
Sun is also acquiring several intellectual property rights assets from DSM IP Assets B.V., a unit of DSM.
The European Commission, the EU competition watchdog, said the proposed acquisition would not raise any competition concerns.
"The Commission's examination of the proposed transaction showed that the horizontal overlaps between the parties' activities are not significant and are unlikely to lead to competition concerns," it said in a statement.
