WikiLeaks says will also expose corporate world
LONDON |
LONDON (Reuters) - Whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks, which is causing an international storm over its release of confidential diplomatic cables, said it would also publish disclosures from the corporate world.
"I believe that in the future we are going to have more material that is pertaining to the corporate community," WikiLeaks spokesman Kristinn Hrafnsson said late Wednesday.
Shares in Bank of America fell 3 percent Tuesday amid investor fears that the largest U.S. bank by assets might be at the center of WikiLeaks' next document release.
WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange said his group planned to release tens of thousands of internal documents from a major U.S. bank early next year, according to an interview published Monday by Forbes Magazine.
Hrafnsson, speaking at an event in London, confirmed that the website had information about the operations of a U.S. bank, but declined to identify it.
"We usually don't comment on the projects that are ongoing. We take our time in scrutinizing the material before we release it and that applies to this material as well," he said.

Leave the man alone. Dont bother JA. All you so-called governments for world peace and all you two-faced corporate executives proclaiming honesty and pretending to do social good, and so, you have double standards for truth, transparency, accountability, and freedom of speech. Mr Julian Assante has exposed your dirty secrets, in a way that no one has dared to do before. He has given documentary evidence to not just the media, but to the top most media in the world. It is upto THOSE MEDIA to verify FACTS and AUTHENTICITY before publishing, and those Media Corporations are also responsible not to expose names of officials who may have acted in good faith and carried out the orders of their bosses, and therefore the media may be compromising their identity. If the government and the corporate world, thinking is, that they can do whatever they can, then they should also stand up to face accountability and possible consequencies. I see the role of Mr Julian Assange as an honest broker.
