Venezuela says told no emissions deal in Cancun

CANCUN, Mexico Dec 3 (Reuters) - Venezuela and Bolivia said on Friday that it was "unacceptable" that several developed countries had told them there could be no agreement on emissions targets at U.N. climate talks in Cancun.

U.N. officials had targeted at the start of the Nov. 29-Dec. 10 talks to "anchor" existing, non-binding emissions pledges by industrialized countries, possibly into a U.N. decision, at the conference in Cancun.

Delegates from Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua said on Friday that a clutch of unnamed developed countries had ruled out signing in Cancun new targets into a new round of the Kyoto Protocol after its current phase ends in 2012.
