Swedish prosecutor sees no plot against WikiLeaks

STOCKHOLM | Tue Dec 7, 2010 11:40am EST

STOCKHOLM Dec 7 (Reuters) - The sexual misconduct case against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is a personal matter and not connected with his work releasing secret U.S. diplomatic cables, a Swedish prosecutor said on Tuesday.

"We have nothing which indicates that this is a plot," prosecutor Marianne Ny was quoted by newspaper Aftonbladet as saying at a news conference in the western city of Gothenburg. (Reporting by Patrick Lannin; Editing by Angus MacSwan)
