UPDATE 1-Brookfield acquires Houston tower for $321.5 mln

TORONTO Dec 9 (Reuters) - Brookfield Office Properties BPO.N BPO.TO said on Thursday it has acquired a 53-storey office tower in Houston for $321.5 million.

The company bought the 1.2-million square foot office tower, Heritage Plaza, in the central business district from Goddard Investment Group LLC, adding to its portfolio in Houston, where it is the city's largest office property owner and operator.

The acquisition was financed using available liquidity and a $200 million fixed-rate 4.97 percent loan maturing in January 2023, the company said in a statement.

The building is 84-percent leased with Deloitte and EOG Resources as anchor tenants. (Reporting by Ka Yan Ng; editing by Peter Galloway)
