LONDON Dec 14 (Reuters) - Lloyd's of London insurer Beazley (BEZG.L), which announced on Tuesday it had dropped its bid interest in rival Hardy Underwriting HDU.L, said it would consider handing back more cash to shareholders.

"If we end up with surplus capital, I am sure we will look at ways of handing back cash to shareholders," chief executive Andrew Horton told Reuters.

Horton said Beazley would remain on the lookout for possible acquisition opportunities in the sector. (Reporting by Sudip Kar-Gupta; Editing by Dan Lalor)
