SEOUL Dec 16 (Reuters) - Seoul shares retreated on Thursday after reaching a 37-month closing high in the previous session, with renewed concerns about Europe denting sentiment.

Falls were led by auto issues such as Hyundai Motor (005380.KS), which dipped 2.5 percent, ending three days of gains.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index .KS11 (KOSPI) ended down 0.41 percent at 2,009.24 points.
