Dec 17 (Reuters) - Energy monitoring and efficiency services provider EnerNOC Inc (ENOC.O) said James Turner, who recently resigned as Duke Energy (DUK.N) unit's COO, has quit its board.

Earlier this month, Duke said the chief operating officer of its electric and gas business resigned after Daily Indianapolis Star published e-mails between Turner and former Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC) Chairman David Lott Hardy.

Turner on Dec. 6 admitted that he fell short of professionalism in certain e-mails to the former commissioner.

Turner's resignation from EnerNOC is effective Dec. 15.

Shares of the company closed at $23.93 on Friday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Thyagaraju Adinarayan in Bangalore)
