Egypt says suicide bomber may have hit church

CAIRO Jan 1 (Reuters) - A bomb that killed 21 people outside a church in the Egyptian city of Alexandria may have been carried by a suicide bomber and not caused by a car bomb, the Interior Ministry said on Saturday.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement, carried by the official news agency, that there was no sign the blast originated from any of the destroyed cars, suggesting that "it is likely that the device which exploded was carried by a suicide bomber who died among others".
