WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Saturday that Representative Gabrielle Giffords had been "gravely wounded" and others had died in a shooting in Arizona.

"And while we are continuing to receive information, we know that some have passed away, and that Representative Giffords is gravely wounded," Obama said in a statement. He called the incident an "unspeakable tragedy."

Let us see what Mr Obama does now. I hope he shows some leadership, for a change and leaves his party rhetoric behind him. Mrs Gifford did not deserve this murder attempt. None of the injured deserved this. We hear about safety, security, yet I only see that Mr Obama wants to disarm the American people. He wants to remove our Constitutionally guaranteed rights one by one. I believe that he is looking to sell this country out to the highest bidder. I pray the American people will unite, stand and fight for our liberty, freedom, rights, and religious beliefs. I am concerned that this attack will endanger Mr Obama and others in office. I pray that calm and peace pervade our society, mingled with the patriotic fervor of our forefathers. I also pray for all the victims, families and the future of the USA.
