HOUSTON Jan 10 (Reuters) - Wholesale gasoline and diesel spiked across West Coast refined products markets on Monday due to the shutdown of the Trans-Alaska pipeline and West Coast refinery problems, traders said.

In the Los Angeles market, unleaded CARBOB gasoline for delivery in January jumped 7.5 cents a gallon, trading at 6 cents on top of NYMEX February RBOB gasoline on Monday morning, dealers said.

Later in the day, L.A. January CARBOB traded at 4.5 cents a gallon over NYMEX RBOB.

San Francisco Bay market CARBOB traded at even to L.A.

February-delivery CARBOB sold in L.A. up 6 cents at 13 cents per gallon over NYMEX RBOB.

In the Portland, Oregon, market, prompt gasoline sold at a 10-cent premium to February NYMEX RBOB, a 7-cent spike from Friday.

The Alaska pipeline outage comes as at least three refineries, one each in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington state, are either shut or restarting from shutdowns, reducing supply.

Last week, gasoline was trading across the West Coast markets at discounts to benchmark NYMEX RBOB as heavy winter weather had crushed demand for motor fuels while inventories were well above average demand.

In the Los Angeles and San Francisco markets, CARB diesel and EPA-grade ultra-low sulfur diesel, jumped 7 cents to finish at 4 cents over February NYMEX heating oil.

In Portland, diesel climbed 10 cents to finish at 6 cents over.

In Los Angeles, jet fuel rose 2.75 cents to finish at 5 cents over NYMEX heating oil.
