Geithner to join White House China briefing on Friday

WASHINGTON Jan 14 (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner will join a White House news briefing on Friday on the upcoming visit here of Chinese President Hu Jintao.

The briefing, scheduled to begin at 1.00 p.m. EST (1800 GMT), will also include President Barack Obama's National Security Adviser Tom Donilon. The briefing will not be televised.

The White House said Geithner would discuss the economic aspects of the Jan. 19 Chinese state visit, as well as the benefits of a recent reduction in U.S. payroll taxes. (Reporting by Alister Bull; Editing by Chris Wilson)
