SEOUL Jan 20 (Reuters) - South Korea's defence ministry said on Thursday it had decided to accept North Korea's proposal for high-level military talks in a bid to defuse tensions on the divided peninsula.

A defence ministry spokesman said that it had not been decided whether the talks would be held at the ministerial level. "The government also plans to propose high-ranking talks on denuclearisation," the spokesman said.
