Fitch cuts Tunisia growth forecast to 2 pct from 5 pct
TUNIS |
TUNIS Jan 27 (Reuters) - Fitch Ratings has cut its economic growth forecast for Tunisia to 2 percent from 5 percent in light of the revolution and expects foreign direct investment to fall by a third this year.
In an analysts' call on North Africa on Thursday, Fitch said that it would decide on Tunisia's rating within 3 to 6 months, after putting it on watch.
Fitch put Tunisia's long-term foreign currency credit rating of BBB on watch for a potential downgrade on Jan. 14, the day the country's president fled the country after weeks of protests.
