CAIRO (Reuters) - Interior Minister Habib al-Adli, who has been largely absent from public view as protesters rocked the nation in recent days, met top officials Sunday to discuss security, state media reported.

Adli met Defense Minister Mohamed Hussein Tantawi and Vice President Omar Suleiman, state TV and the official news agency said.

Adli, whose police have been withdrawn from the streets after the army moved in to try to quell days of violent unrest, has been the target of criticism by protesters who have called for him to resign.
