UN's Ban urges all sides in Egypt to show restraint

LONDON Feb 2 (Reuters) - The head of the United Nations said on Wednesday he is "deeply concerned" by the continuing violence in Egypt and that any attack against peaceful demonstrators is unacceptable.

"I am deeply concerned by the continuing violence in Egypt. I once again urge restraint to all the sides," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said after meeting British Prime Minister David Cameron in London.

"Any attack against peaceful demonstrators is unacceptable and I strongly condemn it," he added.

Crowds in Egypt protested for a ninth day calling for President Hosni Mubarak to go. (Reporting by Olesya Dmitracova and Stefano Ambrogi)
