German CDU mulls transaction tax in three countries

BERLIN Feb 4 (Reuters) - The conservative party of German Chancellor Angela Merkel is considering pushing for a financial transaction tax that would take effect just in France, Austria and Germany, sources said on Friday. Europe's largest economy previously aimed to introduce the tax globally, but failed to gain wider support. (Reporting by Matthias Sobolewski and Annika Breidthardt)
