UPDATE 2-Rackspace Q4 rev beats; says CFO to retire

Feb 10 (Reuters) - Web hosting company Rackspace Hosting Inc posted fourth-quarter revenue that beat Wall Street expectations, and said its chief financial officer plans to resign.
Rackspace said Chief Financial Officer Bruce Knooihuizen announced his intent to retire but that he would remain with the company until a replacement has been found.
The company said it will conduct an extensive internal and external search for Knooihuizen's replacement.
Knooihuizen, 55, joined Rackspace as its finance chief in 2008.
Q4 RESULTS
October-December earnings for Rackspace were $13.5 million, or 10 cents a share, down from $30.2 million, or 24 cents a share, a year ago.
Revenue rose 27 percent to $214.7 million.
Analysts on average had expected earnings of 10 cents a share, on revenue of $210.1 million, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S.
Shares of San Antonio, Texas-based Rackspace closed at $37.02 on Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange. They have risen 35 percent in the last three months. (Reporting by Siddharth Cavale in Bangalore; Editing by Unnikrishnan Nair)
